Agriculture Strategy is not just the newest consulting company in Ontario but is a radical change in the philosophy of how succession and human resource issues are dealt with across North America. We never tell the farm family WHAT to do but focus on HOW they make, implement and transition decisions. Our focus is on getting farm families to clearly define their strategy and then implement it into reality. Our other focus is to improve how farm families work together and how families pass the farm off to the next generation.
Agriculture Strategy is owned/operated by Mark Caygeon Junkin and is supported by a strong team of associates both in Ontario and beyond. Out of University in 2000, Mark founded a bleeding edge (later very successful) environmental software company (ISOfarm Inc.) which was the first to adapt the ISO 14001 standard to the Agriculture Sector. Essentially this solution dealt with the science of farm decision making and minimizing human errors within a system. Mark became very skilled at taking complex management consulting tools used in fortune 500 companies (Ex. Six Sigma) and applying them to the practical parameters of the Agriculture Sector. He has applied these systems to solve issues on some of the largest Livestock Operations across North America. Over the past decade he has evolved these systems to deal with the issues of farm succession and Agriculture’s other unique parameters.
Mark is an avid reader with a remarkable breadth of knowledge of the agriculture industry and an even more remarkable rolodex of industry experts across North America. Mark never provides farmers advice on WHAT to do but focuses on improving HOW families make decisions using decision tools. When relevant, he uses webinar technology to bring in appropriate experts (WHO to tell you WHAT to Do) when advice is needed.
As a 7th generation farm boy, Mark Caygeon Junkin lives to save farm families. His own farm succession didn’t go successfully leading to the divorce of his parents and Mark’s passion is to help farm families avoid similar succession dramas. For Mark, saving farm families is not just a career but a life role. Mark’s passion for the people involved in the Agriculture industry is extraordinary and he has a unique gift in dealing with the “soft issues which become hard problems” in Agriculture.
